Moore’s Cemetery

A menudo me he preguntado sobre el Cementerio de Moore frente al de WaWa. Está situado entre Monterey y la calle Seville. No se puede ver mucho desde un automóvil o al menos un automóvil cerca del suelo en Monterey. La valla y el seto mantienen la mayor parte fuera de la vista. Mientras estaba en mi bicicleta esta mañana, decidí montar en la acera junto al cementerio de Monterey y era fácil ver sobre el seto. Tomé la foto de arriba que muestra un hermoso lugar de descanso rodeado de la flora típica de Florida. También anduve en bicicleta por la calle Seville. Hay algunas puertas de entrada, con senderos agradables, pero no es posible en estos días caminar o sentarse tranquilamente y relajarse en el cementerio. Se coloca un letrero avisando que es necesario llamar por adelantado para poder entrar. Hay algunas fotos bonitas del cementerio en este sitio web tomadas por varias personas.

Un poco más abajo, en la calle Seville, se encuentran algunos árboles de mango absolutamente maravillosos. Además, en Monterey hay una parcela vacía junto a la lavandería con mangos colgando de un árbol. Una amiga venezolana me dijo que debería hacer Jalea de Mango.

Moore’s Cemetery

I have often wondered about Moore’s Cemetery across from WaWa’s. It is situated between Monterey and Seville Street. Not much can be seen from a car or at least a car close to the ground on Monterey. The fence and hedge keep most of it out of sight. While out on my bike this morning, I decided to ride on the sidewalk alongside the cemetery on Monterey and it was easy to see over the hedge. I took the picture at the top of the page showing a beautiful resting place surrounded by typical Florida flora. I also bicycled along Seville Street. There are a few entrance gates, with pleasant pathways, but it is not possible these days to walk through or sit quietly and relax in the cemetery. A sign is posted advising that it is necessary to telephone in advance in order to gain entrance. There are some nice photos at this website taken by various people.

A bit further down Seville Street are some absolutely gorgeous, magnificent mango trees. Also, back on Monterey is a vacant lot next to the laundromat with mangos hanging from a tree there. A Venezuelan friend suggests that I gather up some of them to make Mango Gelatin.
