Twin Rivers Park-Maggy’s Hammock Park

Tomé mi bicicleta en el auto hasta Manatee Park en Port Salerno y estacioné allí para comenzar mi paseo del jueves por la mañana a Twin Rivers Park y Maggy’s Hammock Park. 

Algunas de las carreteras tenían más tráfico del que preví. Algunas estaban tranquilas. Vi una agradable mezcla de casas antiguas y nuevas, muchas de ellas con porches de Florida que se pueden disfrutar durante todo el año. Este fue mi primer paseo en bicicleta por esta área y disfruté de las escenas en bote, los hermosos árboles banyan y muchos patios bien cuidados.

¡Twin Rivers Park es increíble! La acera pasa bajo hermosos árboles hasta que se llega a una hermosa vista del río St. Lucie, donde se encuentra con el Intracostero. El viaje de ida y vuelta dentro del parque es de menos de media milla, pero realmente vale la pena el viaje. Había unos cinco ciclistas en el parque. Algunas personas del vecindario llevan a sus perros al parque en sus carritos de golf y pasé por delante de muchos perros mientras montaba mi bicicleta en Twin Rivers. Si hubiera pescadores, habría caminado con mi bicicleta en lugar de andar en ella, pero esa mañana tenía los muelles casi para mí sola, excepto por el hermoso pájaro quedó justo donde estaba sin moverse cuando pasé.

Maggy’s Hammock Park está justo al final de la calle de Twin Rivers Park y definitivamente vale la pena una visita. Hay una ruta de senderismo en la arena, pero me quedé en la acera directamente a través del parque hasta que salí en SE Pompano Beach Terrace. Desde allí volví a Manatee Park.

I took my bike in the car to Manatee Park in Port Salerno and parked there to start my Thursday morning ride over to Twin Rivers Park and Maggy’s Hammock Park.

Some of the roads had more traffic than I anticipated. Some were quiet. I saw a pleasant mixture of old and new houses, many with Florida porches that can be enjoyed year-round. This was my first bike ride through this area and I enjoyed the boat scenes, beautiful banyan trees, and many nicely landscaped yards.

Twin Rivers Park is delightful. The sidewalk passes under beautiful trees until you reach a beautiful view of the St. Lucie River where it meets the Intracoastal. The round trip ride within the park is less than a half mile but really worth the trip. There were about five cyclists in the park. Some neighborhood people drive their dogs to the park in their golf carts and you will pass quite a few dogs while riding. If there were fishermen, I would have walked my bike instead of riding it along the two piers, but that morning I had the piers almost to myself, except for the beautiful bird that stayed right where he was without moving as I rode past.

Maggy’s Hammock Park is right down the road from Twin Rivers Park and definitely worth a visit. There is a sand hiking trail but I stayed on the sidewalk straight through the park until I came out on SE Pompano Beach Terrace. From there I made my way back to Manatee Park.
