The views along this 5-mile loop can be spectacular, depending on the weather. Sunrise is my favorite time to pedal this route, but the YouTube movie below, except for the cell phone photos inserted, was taken midmorning on an April Tuesday. Akaso Brave 6 – Getting to Know You
I bought an Akaso Brave 6 action camera almost three weeks ago. The YouTube video below was taken on a bright sunny day on what I thought would be a quiet ride through Peck Lake Park. Instead, I headed north on Gomez Road in Hobe Sound past Gomez Preserve and just over the boundary into Seabranch Preserve State Park and then returned to Peck Lake Park. Halpatiokee to Hosford Park
I’ve been to Halpatiokee Regional Park many times and walked along the trails, even walking the mountain bike trail one time. I like the shady walking path along the river. Thursday, after parking the car at Halpatiokee, near the beginning of the mountain bike trail, I rode over to nearby Hosford Park to discover what is there. Rio Nature Park
Last Sunday I rode my bicycle from Shepard Park over to Rio Nature Park. I decided to take Old Dixie and cross over the Old Roosevelt Bridge. Upon leaving Shepard’s parking lot, I rode along the pink bricks of SE Atlanta Avenue, and then along the sidewalk until I reached Old Dixie under the new bridge. The bridge opened while I was crossing which gave me an opportunity to watch some dolphins and gaze at boats. I suggest you follow Old Dixie crossing over the railroad tracks when you reach Alice Street, then turn left and it is a short distance to the park. Continue reading “Rio Nature Park”
