St Lucie Shores Neighborhood

Kiplinger Nature Preserve to St. Lucie Shores neighborhood via the Veterans Memorial Bridge and return / Highlight-Sandhill Cranes

In the last week of May, I parked my car at Kiplinger Nature Preserve and started my ride from there. There is a small parking lot that fronts right up to Kanner Highway and from the lot it is a short distance to the bottom of the Veterans Memorial Bridge. I’ve written about this bridge many times and it’s always a pleasure to ride across it. The view is spectacular. There are three benches along the top of the bridge where you can sit to watch the birds and boats if you use the sidewalk. There is also a bicycle path leading over the bridge but you can’t access the benches. Continue reading “St Lucie Shores Neighborhood”

20 Dolphins Playing

This morning on a bicycle ride over the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Martin County, Florida, I stopped to watch numerous dolphins playing in the St. Lucie River. There were a few fortunate people out this morning just after 7:00 am and we were all in awe of these magnificent creatures. The general consensus was that there were about twenty of them. Stuart-Palm City 5-Mile Bike Loop

The views along this 5-mile loop can be spectacular, depending on the weather. Sunrise is my favorite time to pedal this route, but the YouTube movie below, except for the cell phone photos inserted, was taken midmorning on an April Tuesday.  I used an Akaso Brave 6 action camera. The bridges provide great exercise, an extra bonus.  Continue reading “Stuart-Palm City 5-Mile Bike Loop”

Rio Nature Park

pink_roadLast Sunday I rode my bicycle from Shepard Park over to Rio Nature Park. I decided to take Old Dixie and cross over the Old Roosevelt Bridge. Upon leaving Shepard’s parking lot, I rode along the pink bricks of SE Atlanta Avenue, and then along the sidewalk until I reached Old Dixie under the new bridge. The bridge opened while I was crossing which gave me an opportunity to watch some dolphins and gaze at boats. I suggest you follow Old Dixie crossing over the railroad tracks when you reach Alice Street, then turn left and it is a short distance to the park. Continue reading “Rio Nature Park”

Rustic Hills, Palm City, FL

Continue reading “Paseo marítimo / Riverwalk Stuart FL”
